the story: This post is the first one on a series of pictures I've taken recently in York, mostly in the city centre. Almost all of the pictures will be in black & white, with some in sepia or other "old photographs" tones. Seen here is a stretch of the walkway/cycle path by the river Ouse near the Clifford's Tower. When the river floods, this is usually under water, but this year the floods haven't been that bad, and the path has been open for most of the winter. The pattern of shades created by the leafless tree branches blocking the sunlight first caught my eyes, and I've tried to enhance that by processing with a strong-contrast B&W tone.
